Extreme Platform ONE: The New Era of Enterprise Network Management with AI

Extreme Networks has announced the limited availability of its new enterprise networking platform, Extreme Platform ONE, which brings together a series of artificial intelligence technologies – conversational, multimodal and agent-based – in a single interface with the aim of reducing the complexity of IT operations in companies.

The platform is an effort to consolidate dispersed tools and workflows into a unified system. By integrating AI into key layers of the network infrastructure – from visualisation to support automation and access security – Extreme Networks aims to reduce manual network management tasks by up to 90%. Although the use of AI in network management is nothing new, the combination of various AI models with a centralised workspace aims to provide a more reactive and task-oriented user experience.

At the centre of Platform ONE is a digital workspace designed for cross-functional teams. It replaces workflows that require multiple tools with a single interface that enables real-time collaboration, from IT administrators to executives. This AI-driven environment promises to reduce operational steps and speed up the completion of tasks such as monitoring, troubleshooting, purchasing and planning.

The platform’s Service AI Agent is designed to carry out diagnostic tasks, collecting logs and analysing telemetry data in seconds. It can also initiate self-correcting actions or escalate unresolved problems by automatically opening support requests. For corporate IT teams managing large or distributed environments, this feature aims to significantly reduce resolution times and maintain consistent service levels without the need to increase staff.

Extreme Networks also highlights advanced visualization as a differentiating factor, stating that Platform ONE offers comprehensive information on the physical and logical layers of the network with a single login. With geographical maps, fabric overlays and topology views, IT teams gain a clearer understanding of connectivity, policies and performance across multiple locations.

In terms of security, Platform ONE integrates access policy control via an identity-based engine that applies AI-assisted recommendations to users, devices and networks. This approach is designed to simplify access configuration and ease security operations by automating repetitive tasks and applying policies with fewer errors.

With regard to licences, Extreme Networks offers an ‘all-in-one’ structure. This includes a centralised dashboard for renewals, hardware recommendations and software testing – all to simplify asset management and reduce administrative bureaucracy.

Although still in a limited release phase, more than 130 organisations are already using the platform, including healthcare providers looking for scalable network management across multiple sites. Feedback from early users highlights increased operational visibility and ease of scalability as the main benefits.

Extreme Platform ONE is scheduled for general availability in the third quarter of 2025. Although the company presents this launch as a significant leap forward in the area of enterprise networks, wider adoption will depend on the platform’s performance in real environments, where IT teams will have to balance automation with control and trust in AI-based systems.
